How many of the most recent sheets a part may still be dropped onto. 0 means no limit, which is the default because it uses less material — on the 6 m dome, unlimited took 38 sheets and a window of six took 43. Searching every sheet is quadratic, so the window buys seconds with plywood. Measured, not guessed.

Scale against waste

Stock size is fixed while the model grows, so each piece walks across the sheet until it no longer fits and then splits, leaving a dead offcut. The result is a sawtooth. Rows highlighted green are on the Pareto frontier — nothing else is both bigger and cheaper. Rows in red dropped a part and are disqualified, not merely annotated.
